Middle aged and feeling overweight and sluggish I knew I had to make changes.  Meeting Amy was the best thing I could have done.  She is the most amazing, warm and inspirational human being I have ever met and I can honestly say these classes have changed  my life. I have been Powerhooping for 6 months, lost 15kg and feeling great.

Changes happened quickly gaining a waist, stronger arms and legs, increased fitness and I’m now a positive thinker.  A huge bonus was the new friendships formed with like minded people.  I encourage anyone to give it a go, it will change your life!

Hi my name is Jillian, I am 54 years old and joined the Howick Powerhoopers nearly 5 years ago. I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember and now realise the missing factor in my life was consistent exercise. I attend classes 3 times a week with the wonderful Amy, Kerrie & Nicole & along with changes to my diet I have managed to lose a considerable amount of weight. The benefits of regular exercise have been huge for me. I feel happier, healthier & no longer suffer with aching joints. I have gained beautiful friendships & amazing support from this wonderful community. I was 48 years old in this before pic & the after pic was taken 2 weeks ago.


From the first moment I tried a Powerhoop, I knew this was something special.  I have struggled to find an exercise that I enjoyed and fell in love with Powerhooping from the first class.  I used to suffer terrible sciatica since having my three kids.  I have not had any problems with it ever since starting hooping over 5 years ago.  I love what Powerhoop has done for my body, my core has never been stronger and my body has never been stronger.  Not only that, but my confidence has grown so much.  Powerhooping is one of the best things that has happened to me.

Since I started hooping I’ve lost

  • 11.5 cm off chest

  • 23.5 cm off waist

  • 16 cm off hips

  • 12 cm off each thigh

  • 5 cm off each arm

    So 85 cm has come off my body since I started my Powerhoop journey this year !

    There are sooo many things that I can do physically now that I really struggled with a couple years ago. I can walk up the stairs without having to stop to catch my breath, I can get up and down off the floor without help, I can exercise without my inhalers, I can jump on the trampoline, I can pick up my daughter and carry her as far as I like, I no longer have back pain! I can fit on the couch to have a cuddle with my children, the slats in my bed no longer move or break when I get into it at night, even going to the toilet is so much easier, these are just a fraction of the things I can now do with such ease.

    I gave myself the GIFT of good health and now it’s up to me to keep it.


Powerhoop has come into my life and brought with it a abundance of fun & happiness! I have been on a Heath & wellbeing journey for 2yrs and lost a lot of weight, I hit a plateau a few months ago and was getting bored with my workouts. I had seen Amy and her Powerhoop and was instantly attracted to how fun it looked & how happy she was, so I trained as a instructor to inject more fun Into my group fitness classes, the Powerhoop workout has all the benefits of Pilates which I have been teaching for years and so then so much more, so it was in complete alignment with what I believe fitness should be and the visions I had of expanding my Personal Training Biz, it has breathed some amazing new energy into all areas of my life! My passion is to inspire and encourage people to LOVE their beautiful bodies and to really LOVE moving their beautiful bodies for long term health & wellbeing and the powerhoop is helping me do just that. My classes are filling quickly and everyone is raving about how much they love coming, it’s a very supportive environment and we all look forward to seeing each other. I am truly grateful for the amazing personal results I have had using the Powerhoop each day, it’s reshaping my body and giving me heaps of energy!


I’ve lost 10kg and toned up a lot..much fitter too! As I’ve said to you before I started powerhooping to keep my body moving. I was in a horrific accident 24 years ago and my right leg was severely damaged, I broke my pelvis and had burns and degloving injuries. I needed to find an exercise programme that supported and fit in with how I was able to move, without causing me further injuries or pain. Powerhoop has done this and I’m now addicted! I got married on Saturday 1st October and I was absolutely stoked with how I looked. So thank you, thank you, thank you! You are very inspiring and your enthusiasm motivates me to travel from papakura every week to join your class! We are off on a holiday for a week but my hoop will be with me! See you in class when I’m back.”


Look what you have done for me! Thank you thank you. If it wasn’t for powerhooping and your never-ending encouragement, I couldn’t have done this (I’ve lost 10kgs). I thoroughly enjoy the classes even though I walk out looking like I’ve been hooping under a rain cloud!

I have been Powerhooping now for over 18 months and I couldn’t be happier with the amazing results I have achieved by taking 3 classes a week.  Not only have I lost weight, changed my body shape and rediscovered my waist but I also feel stronger, calmer and motivated to achieve other goals in my life.  Exercise is no longer a chore for me as I honestly enjoy it now and I never thought I would ever say that.  I have also made some wonderful new friends at Powerhooping and gained a support group in helping me maintain a healthy lifestyle.


“I have been struggling to lose a few kilos for some years! However, since starting Powerhoop classes once per week and hooping at home for 15 mins each day (religiously) I managed to lose 6.5 kilos in the same number of months. I haven’t been down to this weight (59kg) for many years, apart from 5 years ago I managed to get down to it but that was due to having an overactive thyroid – when that was corrected through medication, the weight crept back on. I lost 12 kg from Powerhooping.  I feel fitter, stronger and more importantly, happier than I have in a very long time.  I go to a Powerhoop class three  times a week and I Powerhoop at home every day.  I was a size 18, now I am a very comfortable 10.  I love Powerhooping so much.   It has literally changed my entire life.

I’m fitter, healthier and feeling the best I’ve felt in many years! This isn’t some quick fix shizzy fad, it really works and it’s something that I really enjoy doing and will continue to enjoy for many years!
I’m not one for blowing my own trumpet, but when I was sent the photo on the left, I couldn’t believe how much I’d changed. Blimey!
